Ngā Taonga Tākaro - Workshop by Harko Brown - AUCKLAND
Physical Education New Zealand is excited to host this one-day workshop with Teacher and Māori games expert, Harko Brown.
An introduction to new takaro and pūrākau.
This workshop is for teachers of Years 1-13 students in Auckland.
Join PENZ and Harko Brown in 2026 for an inspiring Ngā Taonga Tākaro workshop that weaves together kēmu (games) and pūrākau (stories), building on and extending learning from previous sessions.
This workshop introduces new games and fresh ideas, responding to what participants loved most about earlier workshops, which were extremely well received.
It’s a rich, hands-on learning experience that continues to deepen understanding, connection, and confidence in using Ngā Taonga Tākaro in meaningful ways.
This workshop will help with the confidence for embedding mātauranga Māori into your planning and programmes by providing opportunities for meaningful te ao Māori activities
The workshop will be facilitated by Harko Brown, Māori games expert and author of Ngā Taongo Tākaro II - The Matrix.
Your registration also includes Morning Tea and Lunch.
